Information on Popular Gifts and Souvenirs

Shiroi Koibito

Shiroi Koibito

Shiroi Koibito (literally “white lover”) features sweet and smooth white chocolate that is sandwiched between two crispy cookies. It has a light texture that simply melts in your mouth. This cookie was created in 1976 and has been a representative souvenir of Hokkaido for nearly 40 years.

Jaga Pokkuru

Jaga Pokkuru

Hokkaido is known as a potato-producing region. This popular snack features potatoes which have been cut to resemble French fries, but the skin is not peeled in order to retain the natural umami flavor. The sticks are lightly salted and have a crispy texture. The snack is named after a dwarf in the folklore of the Ainu, an indigenous people of Japan.

Mifuyu Matcha

Mifuyu Matcha

Mifuyu literally means “beautiful winter.” This delicious mille-feuille has a crunchy texture and your mouth will be filled with the rich aroma of chocolate from the very first bite. Matcha green tea gives it a refined flavor and balances nicely with the crisp puff pastry.

ROYCE' Nama Chocolate “Au Lait”

ROYCE' Nama Chocolate “Au Lait”

A generous amount of fresh cream is blended into this chocolate, hence the name nama (literally, “fresh”). It has a delicate texture and gently melts in your mouth. Cherry liquor is used to flavor the chocolate.

Marusei Butter Sand

Marusei Butter Sand

Marusei Butter Sand features in a buttercream filling (made from 100% Hokkaido butter) with white chocolate and raisins that is sandwiched between cookies that are made with special flour. This famous cookie has long been a best seller for its producer, Rokkatei (formerly Marusei).

In addition to the above, ANA Festa shops carry a wide range of other popular confections and snacks from Hokkaido.
